Dan Savage is the author of seven books, including best-sellers âAmerican Savage,â âThe Kid: What Happened After My Boyfriend and I Decided to Go Get Pregnantâ and âThe Commitment: Love, Sex, Marriage and My Family.â
Savage's sex advice column, "Savage Love," is syndicated across the globe. Dan is also the host of the “Savage Lovecast,” an award-winning sex-and-relationship podcast. Savage starred in and executive-produced "Savage U" (MTV) and the Emmy-nominated documentary series "It Gets Better" for MTV and Logo. He regularly appears on MSNBC and HBO's "Real Time" with Bill Maher as a commentator.
In September 2010, Savage created the anti-LGBT bullying video campaign It Gets Better Project (www.itgetsbetter.org) with his husband, Terry, receiving both a Webby Award and the Governors Award Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for its use of TV to inspire social change.
